Team Magma appears in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald and their remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Led by Maxie, with Tabitha and Courtney as his Admins, it wants to wake the legendary Groudon and expand the world's landmass. The originals frame more land as good for people and Pokémon alike; Omega Ruby recasts it as room for human civilization to grow. Grunts use Poochyena and Zubat alongside Ground types such as Numel.
Its first big scheme is using a Meteorite to make Mt. Chimney erupt. In Ruby the team goes on to awaken Groudon with the wrong orb, enraging it instead of controlling it. In Emerald, where both teams are active, Maxie and Archie realize the disaster their legendaries have caused and make peace once Rayquaza calms them.
In Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, Team Magma debuts in A Ruin with a View and spends much of its screen time chasing clues to Groudon's whereabouts. It clashes with Team Aqua in episodes such as Fight for the Meteorite!, and the feud ends in Gaining Groudon and The Scuffle of Legends with a destructive battle between Groudon and Kyogre.
EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua (March 2004) introduced Team Magma's Pokémon, and the team's evolved Pokémon carry a second type, Darkness, alongside their usual one. Its Team Magma holos are Team Magma's Aggron, Claydol, Groudon, Houndoom, Rhydon and Torkoal; the Groudon is illustrated by Kazuo Yazawa. The rest of the roster runs through Aron and Lairon, Baltoy, Houndour, Numel and Camerupt, Rhyhorn, Poochyena and Mightyena, and Zangoose.
Double Crisis (March 2015), a small special set built around the two teams, brought Team Magma back with new cards led by the Ultra Rare Team Magma's Groudon EX, plus the Item Team Magma's Great Ball and the Stadium Team Magma's Secret Base. The Celebrations Classic Collection (October 8, 2021) then reprinted Team Magma's Groudon with Kazuo Yazawa's 2004 art.

No. They are rival teams with opposite goals, land against sea, though in Emerald Maxie and Archie make peace after Groudon and Kyogre's clash.

Ranked by each card’s main print in near-mint raw condition. 1st Edition, Shadowless and other versions are priced on each card’s page. The table updates live.
Team Magma card value sits almost entirely at the top: the ten leading cards hold 93 percent of the total, so a short list sets the market for the whole group. The most valuable Team Magma card is Team Magma's Groudon EX, an Ultra Rare from Double Crisis in 2015. All 43 Team Magma cards carry a market value, 41 of them Pokémon cards and 2 Trainer cards, and the priced cards run from 2004 to 2021.
Team Magma's Groudon EX from Double Crisis (2015) is an Ultra Rare and leads Team Magma card value by 2.5 times over the next card. That card is Team Magma's Houndoom, a Holo Rare from Team Magma vs Team Aqua (2004). Team Magma's Groudon, Torkoal and Claydol follow in the same set and year, each also a Holo Rare. A holo carries a foil-patterned picture panel, so these are the foil versions of their cards.
Team Magma cards in the top 25 come from two eras: 16 from the EX era and 9 from the XY era. All 10 of the leading cards and all 25 of the top 25 are modern, where modern means every era after the WOTC era. The newest era's leader is Team Magma's Groudon from Celebrations Classic Collection (2021), a Sword & Shield era card that sits 27th overall.
Among the ten most valuable Team Magma cards, 6 are Holo Rares, 2 are Uncommons, 1 is a Rare and 1 is an Ultra Rare. Widening to the top 25 gives 9 Holo Rares, 6 Uncommons, 5 Rares, 4 Commons and 1 Ultra Rare. The Uncommons in the ten include Team Magma's Great Ball from Double Crisis (2015) and Team Magma's Houndour from Team Magma vs Team Aqua (2004).
Measured by its single leading card, Team Magma ranks 6th of 110 characters with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 8th of 24. Alongside the 93 percent share held by the ten leaders, those ranks show a Team Magma card market built on a small group of cards, led by one Groudon EX.
