Camerupt debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire as the Fire and Ground type Pokémon Numel becomes at level 33. It stands 1.9 meters tall and weighs 220.0 kilograms. Magma Armor keeps it from being frozen, Solid Rock softens super-effective hits, and its hidden ability, Anger Point, maximizes its Attack when it takes a critical hit.
Team Magma's leader, Maxie, uses Camerupt in his battles. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire gave it a Mega Evolution, Mega Camerupt, which keeps the Fire and Ground typing, and Maxie's Camerupt holds the Cameruptite in those games.
Camerupt's first card is Ruby & Sapphire #4 (July 2003), a Holo Rare illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Team Magma vs Team Aqua (2004) printed Team Magma's Camerupt by Katsura Tabata, and Double Crisis (2015) brought the team back with a second Team Magma's Camerupt by Shin Nagasawa. Other EX era Rares came in Deoxys (2005, Tomokazu Komiya) and Crystal Guardians (2006, Mitsuhiro Arita).
Emerald (2005) printed Camerupt ex, illustrated by Ryo Ueda. In the XY era, M Camerupt-EX arrived as a Black Star Promo, and Primal Clash (2015), the set built around Hoenn's Primal Reversion, printed a standard Camerupt-EX by Eske Yoshinob and a full art version by Ryo Ueda, alongside Team Aqua's counterpart, Sharpedo-EX.
The Mega Evolution set (2025) brought Mega Camerupt ex as a Double rare and as an Ultra Rare (#156) by 5ban Graphics. Ascended Heroes (2026) added an Uncommon Camerupt drawn by Minahamu.

Camerupt card value is concentrated at the top: the ten leading cards hold 97 percent of the total, and the most valuable Camerupt card is Camerupt ex from Emerald, 2005. Of the 26 Camerupt cards, 25 carry a market value, spanning 2003 to 2026. With that much of the value sitting in ten cards, the most valuable Camerupt cards define the species market, and the remaining fifteen priced cards share only a sliver of what is left.
Camerupt ex from Emerald, 2005, a Holo Rare, leads Camerupt card value by 2.8 times over the next card, the Holo Rare Camerupt from Deoxys, also 2005. Third is Camerupt EX from Primal Clash, 2015, an Ultra Rare. Fourth and fifth are Holo Rare Camerupt cards from Ruby & Sapphire, 2003, and Crystal Guardians, 2006. A holo is a card with a foil-patterned artwork box, and all four of these are printed that way except the Ultra Rare, which is a higher rarity tier within its own set.
Camerupt cards at the top come from the EX era more than any other, with 8 of the twenty-five leading cards, followed by 5 from XY, 3 from Diamond & Pearl and 3 from Mega Evolution. The newest era's leader is Mega Camerupt ex from Mega Evolution, 2025, in 11th place overall. Every one of the ten leaders and every one of the twenty-five leaders is a modern card, since vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era, so no vintage Camerupt card reaches either group.
Among the ten most valuable Camerupt cards, 5 are Holo Rare, 2 are Rare, 2 are Ultra Rare and 1 is a Promo. Widening to the leading twenty-five, the count is 8 Uncommon, 7 Rare, 5 Holo Rare, 3 Ultra Rare, 1 Double rare and 1 Promo. Those are the printed rarities across Camerupt cards, with Holo Rare the most common among the leaders and Uncommon the most common once the group widens.
By the value of its single leading card, Camerupt ranks 231st of 1020 species with priced cards, and by the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 232nd of 753. Numel, the only other member of its evolution line, ranks 913th of 1020 by its top card. That puts the Camerupt card market in the middle of the field by its leaders, with nearly all of the line's value held by Camerupt itself rather than spread across the evolution line.
