BW Black Star Promos, set code BWP, is the promotional run that accompanies the Black & White era of the English-language Pokémon TCG. Its release date is April 26, 2011, and the card list holds 101 printed cards across 105 catalog printings. It reads less like a themed expansion and more like a collection of one-off distributions: Axew, Genesect and the Victory Cup each appear in three versions, with Eevee and Landorus printed twice, and the Pokémon cards lean on Colorless, Fire, Lightning and Psychic types.
The BW Black Star Promos rarity structure is flat, with 70 commons, 30 rares, four promos and a single uncommon, and no chase-tier tier above them. Value comes from distribution history rather than pull odds. Tropical Beach is the most valuable card in the set, followed by Eevee, Mew, Giratina and Lucario, all printed as commons. The Eevee is illustrated by Akira Komayama and the Mew by Naoki Saito. The top five cards hold 41 percent of the set's total card value, a meaningful concentration but not an overwhelming one.
As of October 2026, BW Black Star Promos holds the highest total card value among the 3 comparable Black & White sets, about 51.6 times the era median, and ranks 5th across the whole game. Its Tropical Beach is also the era's most valuable single card, while trading activity places the set 3rd in its era. At 101 printed cards it is larger than the era median of 12. It followed Basic Energy (2011 copyright), and next came McDonald's Collection 2011, which holds less total value. Its cards first appeared in the Japanese BW-P Promotional cards, released December 1, 2010, with 67 shared cards.

Finishing BW Black Star Promos means chasing 105 catalog printings, 102 of which are priced. Because the top five cards hold 41 percent of total card value, the price of a complete run is shaped mostly by a handful of promos, with Tropical Beach at the head, while most of the remaining cards are inexpensive commons and rares. Duplicated names like Axew, Genesect and the Victory Cup mean collectors tracking every version should keep the card list handy to tell the printings apart.
