Leafeon joined the Eevee family in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, together with Glaceon. The pair brought location-based evolution to the Eevee family: Eevee becomes Leafeon when it levels up near a Moss Rock, found in Sinnoh's Eterna Forest, Unova's Pinwheel Forest and Kalos's Route 20. Starting in Generation VIII a Leaf Stone also works, and in Pokémon Sword and Shield the stone is the only method.
Its ability, Leaf Guard, blocks status conditions in harsh sunlight, and its hidden ability, Chlorophyll, doubles its Speed in the same weather.
Leafeon's first cards came in Majestic Dawn (2008): a holo by Kouki Saitou, a non-holo rare by Masakazu Fukuda and a Leafeon LV.X by Ryo Ueda. It kept appearing as a regular rare through the Black & White era, then took on the special mechanics: Leafeon EX in Generations (2016), Leafeon GX in Ultra Prism (2018) with a secret rare, and a shiny Leafeon-GX in the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault.
Evolving Skies (2021), the Sword & Shield set built around Eeveelution V and VMAX cards, printed Leafeon V and Leafeon VMAX, including two secret rare VMAX cards, one by PLANETA Tsuji and one by HYOGONOSUKE. Crown Zenith (2023) followed with Leafeon VSTAR, including a Galarian Gallery version by Jiro Sasumo, and the Eevee-focused Prismatic Evolutions (2025) printed Leafeon ex, whose special illustration rare is also by Jiro Sasumo. 5ban Graphics has the most Leafeon credits in our catalog (9).
Leafeon is usually collected as part of the Eeveelution set, and its cards cluster in the sets built around that family: Majestic Dawn, Evolving Skies and Prismatic Evolutions. Its LV.X, EX, GX, VMAX, VSTAR and ex cards give an Eeveelution binder a Grass type entry for each of those mechanics.
