Consignment Terms

What it costs to consign cards to Cardboard Alpha, and what we each owe the other. Version v1.

The short version

Our standard fee is 10% of net sale proceeds — you keep 90%. “Net” means the final sale price minus the marketplace’s own selling and payment-processing fees (Whatnot, TCGplayer, eBay); buyer-paid shipping and tax are never part of either side’s cut. Example: a $100.00 sale minus $11.20 in marketplace fees leaves $88.80 net; you receive 90% of that — $79.92.

We usually sell in live auctions, which often start low. The final price can land below market value, and sometimes above it — the figures in the app are estimates, never offers or guarantees.

The full terms

Who this is between

Cardboard Alpha is operated by Rocket Agents LLC, a Nevada company ("we," "us"). You, the person consigning items to us, are the "consignor." These terms apply to every consignment you hand us, as recorded on that consignment’s own receipt.

Consignment fee — 10% of net proceeds

Our standard consignment fee is 10% of the item’s net sale proceeds. You receive the other 90%.

Net sale proceeds means the final sale price minus the marketplace’s own selling and payment-processing fees on that sale (for example Whatnot, TCGplayer or eBay). Buyer-paid shipping and sales tax are never part of either side’s cut.

Example: a $100 sale with $11.20 in marketplace fees leaves $88.80 net. You receive 90% of that — $79.92.

A different fee for one lot

We may agree to a different fee for a specific consignment at intake, but only with your agreement before the handoff completes. The agreed fee is shown on your receipt.

If we propose a different fee after you’ve already agreed to one, we show you the new rate and ask you to accept or decline it — we cannot confirm we’ve received your cards until you do.

How items are sold, and the risk

We usually sell consigned items in live auctions, which often start at low prices. The final price can land below market value, and sometimes above it.

Market estimates shown in the app are estimates, not offers or guarantees of what an item will sell for. There is no minimum price unless we agree to a written reserve at intake.

How we sell it

We choose the venue, format, timing and listing details for each item — we run the sale; you don’t need to manage it.

Authenticity and condition

We inspect every item when we receive it. An item we judge counterfeit, altered or materially misdescribed is not sold, and is returned to you at your cost.

Our own condition and grade assessment governs how the item is listed.

When you get paid

We pay out within 14 days after the buyer’s payment clears and any marketplace protection or return window closes, to the payout method on file.

A payout is reversed if the buyer returns the item, disputes the charge, or charges back.

Custody and risk of loss

Risk of loss in transit to us stays with you until we confirm receipt.

While an item is in our custody we use reasonable care, and our liability for loss or damage is limited to the market estimate recorded at intake. We recommend shipping with insurance and tracking.

Withdrawing an item

You may withdraw an unsold item at any time before it’s scheduled for sale. Return shipping is at your cost, or you can arrange pickup.

An item already sold, or already scheduled in a live show, can’t be withdrawn.

Unclaimed items

A returned or unsold item you don’t collect within 90 days of our notice may be treated as abandoned, to the extent the law allows.

Taxes

You’re responsible for your own taxes on anything you sell through us. We may collect tax information from you and issue tax forms (for example a 1099) where the law requires it.

Your ownership

By consigning an item, you confirm you own it and have the right to sell it.

Changes to these terms

The version of these terms you accept is recorded on each consignment. A later change to these terms never applies retroactively to a consignment you already agreed to.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada.
