Glaceon arrived in Generation IV alongside Leafeon and is one of Eevee's eight evolutions, with Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon and Sylveon. It can chill its body enough to freeze its fur into sharp icicles that it fires at attackers. Its ability, Snow Cloak, raises its evasion in hail or snow, and its hidden ability, Ice Body, restores HP in the same weather. It stands 0.8 meters tall and weighs 25.9 kilograms.
Eevee becomes Glaceon by leveling up near an Ice Rock, found on Route 217 in Sinnoh, in Twist Mountain in Unova, in Frost Cavern in Kalos and on Mount Lanakila in Alola; near one, Eevee turns into Glaceon even if it also qualifies for Espeon, Umbreon or Sylveon. Generation VIII added the Ice Stone as a second method, and it is the only way in Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet, which have no Ice Rock. HeartGold and SoulSilver have neither, so Eevee cannot become Glaceon there.
Glaceon debuted in the Diamond and Pearl episode A Full Course Tag Battle!, which revealed that May's Eevee had evolved into it off screen, and May used it against Dawn's Piplup in the Battle Stage of the Wallace Cup. Cynthia uses a Glaceon to make ice for Meloetta in Best Wishes, and in Journeys a Glaceon nicknamed Mirche belongs to Regina in Breaking the Ice!
Glaceon's first cards came in Majestic Dawn (2008): a holo (#5) by Atsuko Nishida, a non-holo (#20) and Glaceon LV.X (#98) by Ryo Ueda. Fates Collide (2016) brought Glaceon-EX, and Ultra Prism (2018) printed Glaceon-GX three ways, including a full art (#141) and a rainbow Secret Rare (#159), before Hidden Fates (2019) put a shiny Glaceon-GX in its Shiny Vault (#SV55).
Evolving Skies (2021) gave Glaceon a V, including an alternate art by Narumi Sato (#175), and two Secret Rare Glaceon VMAX: a rainbow version by PLANETA Tsuji (#208) and an alternate art by kirisAki (#209). Crown Zenith's Galarian Gallery added Glaceon VSTAR (#GG40) by Gemi, and Prismatic Evolutions (2025) printed a Tera Glaceon ex whose special illustration rare (#150) is by Kamome Shirahama. Our catalog lists 33 Glaceon cards across 18 sets, 12 of them from the Sword & Shield era.

Level Eevee up near an Ice Rock, or, from Generation VIII onward, use an Ice Stone. Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet have no Ice Rock, so the Ice Stone is the only method there.
Glaceon has Snow Cloak, which raises its evasion in hail or snow, and the hidden ability Ice Body, which restores HP in that weather.
May's Eevee evolved into Glaceon off screen, revealed in A Full Course Tag Battle! Cynthia and Regina also own one.
Ultra Prism's rainbow Glaceon-GX (#159) and Evolving Skies' two Glaceon VMAX cards (#208 and #209) are Secret Rares.
