N began as an orphan living in the woods with Pokémon, which is how he learned to understand them. Ghetsis adopted him, let him grow up only around Pokémon that humans had mistreated, and crowned him king of Team Plasma, whose stated goal is to liberate Pokémon from their Trainers. N battles the player repeatedly across Unova, starting with a Purrloin in Accumula Town.
At Dragonspiral Tower he befriends the legendary dragon of the player's version's opposite: Zekrom in Pokémon Black, Reshiram in Pokémon White. He then defeats the Champion, Alder, and raises his castle around the Pokémon League. After the player beats him there, Ghetsis reveals that N was only ever a pawn in his own plan to rule Unova. N returns in Black 2 and White 2 to help the player stand against Ghetsis and Kyurem.
Journey Together (2025) gave N his own Owner's Pokémon, and the roster tracks his in-game teams closely: N's Purrloin, Darumaka and Darmanitan, Sigilyph, Joltik, the Klink, Klang and Klinklang line, Zorua, N's Reshiram and the set's headliner, N's Zoroark ex. Ascended Heroes (2026) added N's Vanillite, Vanillish and Vanilluxe and an N's Zekrom, with new versions of several Journey Together cards. Journey Together also printed two Trainer cards in his name, the Stadium N's Castle and the Item N's PP Up.
N's own Supporter card first appeared as a BW Black Star Promo and in Noble Victories (November 16, 2011), where the full-art Ultra Rare (#101) carries Ken Sugimori's artwork; the card was reprinted in Dark Explorers and Fates Collide. Cosmic Eclipse (2019) added the Supporter N's Resolve, whose full-art Ultra Rare is by Mana Ibe, and Black Bolt (2025) added N's Plan, with a Special Illustration Rare by REND.
The chase cards of the Owner's Pokémon run are the Special Illustration Rare and Hyper Rare versions of N's Zoroark ex in Journey Together and a second Special Illustration Rare in Ascended Heroes, plus an Illustration Rare of N's Reshiram. The 30th Celebration Classic Collection (September 16, 2026) reprinted the N Supporter with Ken Sugimori's art.

N cards span 2005 to 2026, and the most valuable N card is the Ultra Rare N from Noble Victories (2011), which leads the value ranking. Of the 45 N cards, 44 carry a market value, and the ten leading cards hold 93 percent of the total value, so a short list of cards sets N card value for the whole character.
The Noble Victories N from 2011 leads the most valuable N cards by 1.8 times over the next card, the Ultra Rare N's Resolve from Cosmic Eclipse (2019). Third is the Special illustration rare N's Zoroark ex from Ascended Heroes (2026), followed by the Special illustration rare N's Plan from Black Bolt (2025). Fifth is the Holo Rare Unown (N) from Unseen Forces (2005), the oldest card among the leaders. A special illustration rare is a full-art card with artwork that extends across the frame, while a holo carries a foil finish on its picture.
The value in N cards sits in recent sets. Of the twenty-five leading cards, 9 come from Scarlet & Violet, 8 from Mega Evolution, 4 from Black & White and 2 from Sun & Moon. The newest era's leader is N's Zoroark ex from Ascended Heroes (2026), 3rd overall. Vintage here means the WOTC era and modern is every later era. All ten of the top ten and all twenty-five of the top twenty-five N cards are modern.
Among the ten most valuable N cards, three are Special illustration rare and two are Ultra Rare, with one each of Holo Rare, Illustration rare, Promo and Uncommon. Across the leading twenty-five, Ultra Rare and Uncommon each count five cards, Holo Rare and Promo three each, Special illustration rare three, Double rare two, and Common, Hyper rare and Illustration rare one each. The N card market mixes chase rarities, promos and a few plain Uncommon printings.
Among the 110 characters with priced cards, N ranks 13th by the value of its single leading card. By the combined value of the ten leaders, N ranks 11th of 24. With 93 percent of its value in the top ten, the N card market rests on a small group of cards, led by the Noble Victories N.
