Klink and its evolved forms are the only known Pokémon able to learn the move Gear Grind, and once its two gears have joined, trying to mesh with any other gear would split them apart. It generates its life energy by spinning and is generally found in caves; According to Professor Juniper, the oldest record of the species is from about 100 years ago in Chargestone Cave, where she believes it suddenly appeared.
Klink debuted in the films White: Victini and Zekrom and Black: Victini and Reshiram alongside its evolutions Klang and Klinklang, all under the ownership of a character named Mannes, who used the trio for tasks like powering a music machine at a harvest festival and powering his helicopter.
Klink debuted in Black & White as a Common illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, and it has remained mostly a Common card since. Journey Together gave it an N's Klink printing illustrated by Saboteri, and Black Bolt added both a regular printing and an Illustration Rare illustrated by Nobuhiro Imagawa.

Professor Juniper notes Klink was first recorded appearing in Chargestone Cave about a century ago.
