Tatsugiri is a small piscine dragon Pokémon with a white throat sac resembling a bed of rice, long pectoral fins and a split tail fin, coming in Curly, Droopy and Stretchy forms distinguished by color and stance and modeled on different types of nigirizushi.
Tatsugiri is the only Dragon-type Pokémon in the Water 2 Egg Group and the only one with fins, and it can Mega Evolve using Tatsugirinite, introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension, into one of three Mega forms matching its base form.
All three forms of Tatsugiri appeared together, joining the Rising Volt Tacklers.
Tatsugiri's first card was a 2023 Scarlet and Violet Uncommon from OKACHEKE. Shimaris Yukichi drew its SVP Black Star promo. Twilight Masquerade paired a standard Uncommon with an Illustration Rare from osare, and Surging Sparks later brought a Tatsugiri ex pair from 5ban Graphics in Double Rare and Ultra Rare.
