Dondozo does not evolve and is the tallest Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. Its design may also nod to a sushi chef, reflecting its relationship with Tatsugiri.
Dondozo, along with its Shiny coloration, which resembles an albino wels catfish, was designed by James Turner. It appears to be based on the wels catfish, a large species native to Europe and introduced to Spain, and its diet of bird Pokémon may reference how wels catfish have been observed beaching themselves to hunt terrestrial birds.
Its Scarlet & Violet base set cards are a Rare from Souichirou Gunjima and an illustration rare from AKIRA EGAWA. Shin Nagasawa drew its SVP Black Star promo. Paradox Rift added an Uncommon and Paldean Fates a Shiny rare, while Destined Rivals closed the run with a Dondozo ex Double rare and Ultra Rare, both by N-DESIGN Inc.

Water
Dondozo is the Big Catfish Pokémon, a pure Water type with no evolutions and the tallest Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It was designed by James Turner and seems to be based on the wels catfish.
No published index yet — too few of Dondozo’s cards trade often enough to strike one.
