Annihilape evolves from Primeape when it levels up after using the move Rage Fist twenty times, making it the final stage of the Mankey line. Unlike its pre-evolutions it carries a Ghost typing alongside Fighting, and while the shackle on its left arm is broken, it can greatly enlarge its unshackled arm.
Its name is likely a play on annihilate and ape, while its Japanese name Konoyozaru references leaving this world, fitting its ghostly half.
Annihilape's first set card came in the Scarlet and Violet base set, illustrated by Anesaki Dynamic. PLANETA Hiiragi drew both its SVP promo ex and the Paldea Evolved Ultra Rare ex, and Paldean Fates added both a standard Anesaki Dynamic print and a Shiny rare from Hitoshi Ariga. Surging Sparks and Destined Rivals kept the species current in the Scarlet and Violet era, and Pitch Black carried Annihilape into the Mega Evolution era with art by Haru Akasaka.
