Hydrapple is composed of seven syrpents living within a syrup apple structure, each with leaf-shaped eyestalks and a tail tipped with leafy ornaments. It evolves from Dipplin once it knows the move Dragon Cheer, which requires a TM. Only three syrpents show outside the apple: the dominant central syrpent, which still carries the apple it inhabited as an Applin on one horn, and two tails from the others; it is the only one of Applin's final forms without a Gigantamax form, and the only member of Applin's family listed in the Blueberry Pokédex.
Hydrapple seems inspired by multiheaded serpent myths, including the Yamata no Orochi of Japanese mythology, Hachirō-Tarō from Tōhoku folklore, and the Greek Lernaean Hydra.
Hydrapple debuted in Stellar Crown with a Hydrapple ex double rare and an Ultra Rare by 5ban Graphics, plus a special illustration rare by Teeziro. Prismatic Evolutions added another 5ban Graphics double rare, and Destined Rivals contributed a rare by Anesaki Dynamic and an illustration rare by Jerky.
