Coalossal's peaceful disposition turns to rage if its coal mine home is disturbed, letting it incinerate invaders with flames as hot as 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit. As Gigantamax Coalossal, it grows considerably larger, with three open spots exposing intense heat and fire that can burn past 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit. It and Carkol are the only Fire types in the Mineral Egg Group and the only dual Fire/Rock Pokémon with Rock as their primary type.
Coalossal debuted in Sword and Shield: The Darkest Day!, struck by a beam of Dynamax energy that caused it to Gigantamax and rampage before Ash and Leon defeated it.
