Lillie is introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon (2016) as Professor Kukui's assistant, a quiet girl who lives at his lab on Melemele Island and carries a Cosmog she nicknamed Nebby in her bag. She fled Aether Paradise with it after learning that the Aether Foundation's experiments would eventually kill it. The Foundation is run by her mother, Lusamine, and partway through the story the player learns that Lillie is Lusamine's daughter and that the rival Gladion is her older brother.
She dislikes battles, loves reading and starts out shy, but she gains confidence over the adventure. At the end of the main story she leaves Alola for Kanto, hoping to find treatment for her mother and to become a Trainer. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon take that further: there she becomes a Trainer who favors Fairy types, and Clefairy is the one Pokémon she is known to keep outside the battle facilities.
Lillie's first card was the Lillie Supporter in the Sun & Moon base set (February 2017), which draws until the player holds six cards, or eight on their first turn. That set also printed a full art Ultra Rare by Megumi Mizutani, and Lillie returned in Shining Legends (2017) and Ultra Prism (2018), the latter with a full art by Naoki Saito. Cosmic Eclipse (2019) added two new names: the Supporter Lillie's Full Force, as an Uncommon and an Ultra Rare by Noriko Uono, and the Item Lillie's Poké Doll, whose Secret Rare by Studio Bora Inc. is numbered 267, above the set's 236-card total.
Journey Together (2025) gave her a small team of Pokémon cards: Lillie's Clefairy ex, Lillie's Cutiefly, Lillie's Ribombee and Lillie's Comfey, plus the Pokémon Tool Lillie's Pearl. Lillie's Clefairy ex runs from Double Rare up to a Special Illustration Rare by Susumu Maeya, and Lillie's Ribombee has an Illustration Rare by saino misaki; both Pokémon also appear as Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos. The Mega Evolution set (September 2025) introduced the Supporter Lillie's Determination as an Uncommon, an Ultra Rare and a Special Illustration Rare, and Ascended Heroes (January 2026) reprinted it alongside a second Special Illustration Rare Lillie's Clefairy ex, by Naoki Saito.
Lillie's cards come in two waves. The Sun & Moon wave is Supporters, with full art Ultra Rares in Sun & Moon, Ultra Prism and Cosmic Eclipse and a Secret Rare in Lillie's Poké Doll. The 2025 and 2026 wave brings the modern Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare treatments, including three Special Illustration Rares: two of Lillie's Clefairy ex and one of Lillie's Determination. Clefairy links the two halves of her story, since it is the Pokémon she keeps in the games and the ex card at the head of her Journey Together team.
