Wugtrio evolves from Wiglett at level 26. Its three red bodies poke out of a spiky black rock, and it is an aggressive hunter that coils around prey and pulls it into its den. It is the only known Pokémon able to learn the move Triple Dive, and it weighs exactly three times as much as Wiglett. It was once thought to be a regional form of Dugtrio, but that idea has since been disproven; its design draws on garden eels, and its likeness to Dugtrio may nod to convergent evolution.
A Wugtrio appeared in HZ103, where Zirc's ticket got stuck on one of its heads, prompting Zirc, Liko, Roy, and Onia to battle it in order to retrieve it.
Wugtrio debuted as an Uncommon in the Scarlet & Violet base set from KIYOTAKA OSHIYAMA, with further Uncommons in Obsidian Flames from Akira Komayama and Paradox Rift from Kouki Saitou. Paldean Fates added a Shiny rare from Kyoko Umemoto and an illustration rare from Tetsu Kayama, and Temporal Forces closed the run with a Wugtrio ex Double rare and Ultra Rare, both by 5ban Graphics.
