Vivillon is the final stage of the Scatterbug line, evolving from Spewpa at level 12. It has 20 separate forms, with its wing pattern determined by the climate and geography of where it lives, and the Meadow Pattern is treated as its primary form in most official artwork even though the Icy Snow Pattern is listed earliest in the Pokédex.
Vivillon debuted in its Meadow Pattern form in A Blustery Santalune Gym Battle!, under Viola's ownership, used in her Gym battle against Ash and the rematch that followed, defeating his Fletchling both times. Multiple Vivillon in six other patterns appeared in To Catch a Pokémon Smuggler!, having evolved from a group of Spewpa targeted by Dolan.
Vivillon's card run began with a Rare in the base XY set by 5ban Graphics, followed by single Rares in BREAKthrough, Forbidden Light, and Battle Styles. The Scarlet & Violet era added an Uncommon, then Surging Sparks paired an Uncommon with an illustration rare by REND, and the Mega Evolution era's Perfect Order added an Uncommon by mingo. An XY Black Star Promo by match also exists.
