Turtwig

Turtwig in the anime

Ash caught his Turtwig in Gettin' Twiggy With It!, evolving it into a Grotle during Aiding the Enemy! and again into a Torterra during The Fleeing Tower of Sunyshore!. Paul's first partner Pokémon was also a Turtwig that eventually fully evolved into a Torterra, and Turtwig was introduced as a species in Following a Maiden's Voyage! as one of the first partner Pokémon Professor Rowan offered to new trainers, showing a relaxed nature and an odd fear of Rowan himself. In The Grass-Type is Always Greener!, Gardenia's Turtwig defeated both of Ash's Staravia and Turtwig before losing to Ash's Turtwig in a later Gym battle.
