Tapu Fini

Tapu Fini in the anime

Tapu Fini debuted partially in A Dream Encounter! alongside the other guardian deities sensing the birth of a Cosmog nicknamed Nebby, then appeared fully in Family Determination! and many more times throughout Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon.

Tapu Fini's origins and cards

Tapu Fini's closed-shell appearance resembles a swordfish or marlin, its open form a mermaid or siren, and its hinged shell recalls many bivalves; it may also be inspired by Kanaloa, one of the four major Hawaiian gods and god of the ocean, whose underworld ties may explain the Ruins of Hope, Tapu Fini's shrine said to be where life ends its journey. Burning Shadows gave Tapu Fini GX a Rare, an Ultra Rare, and a Secret Rare, all by 5ban Graphics, and an SM Black Star promo also exists. Lost Thunder added a Rare by Kagemaru Himeno, Unified Minds a further Rare, Hidden Fates' Shiny Vault a Secret Rare, and the Sword & Shield era's Chilling Reign a Holo Rare illustrated by Shin Nagasawa.
