Spoink in the anime

Spoink debuted in Pearls are a Spoink's Best Friend, where Ash and his friends helped it recover its lost pearl after learning from the Pokédex that Spoink weakens without one. In Clamperl of Wisdom it lost its pearl at sea, briefly held Clamperl researcher Isaiah's rare blue pearl, and ended the episode with a pink pearl given by a wild Clamperl it had befriended. In An Oasis of Hope!, one Spoink helped Ash and his friends save its friends from a bullying Grumpig.

Spoink on cards

Spoink debuted in Dragon with two separate printings by Miki Tanaka and Midori Harada, and Deoxys followed with a printing by Ken Sugimori. It has remained a Common card through most of its printings since, including a recent Mega Evolution set printing illustrated by toi8.
