Spidops is an arachnoid Pokémon with eight slender legs bunched into pairs, each foot possessing a white spinneret port used to string silk tripwires and nets. It evolves from Tarountula at level 15, and it is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 404.
It shares its category, Trap Pokémon, with Stunfisk, and its design may draw on the ogre-faced spider as well as marionettes and the string game cat's cradle.
Spidops appeared in Farewell, Sprigatito?, first shown attacking a group of Sprigatito in a flashback before being stopped by Liko's future Sprigatito. In the present day it attacked Liko's Hatenna and Terapagos before being defeated by Sprigatito's newly learned Magical Leaf.
Spidops's earliest set appearance came in the Scarlet and Violet base set, which included a Double rare ex and an Ultra Rare ex by takuyoa and a Special illustration rare ex by Miki Tanaka; Anesaki Dynamic drew its SVP promo. Paldea Evolved added an Uncommon by Oswaldo KATO, and Destined Rivals closed with two Team Rocket's Spidops prints, a Rare by Taiga Kasai and an Illustration rare by NC Empire.
