Slither Wing is tied with Mega Scolipede as the tallest Bug-type Pokémon and is also the tallest Fighting-type Pokémon, folding its wings above its body in a way that suggests it is paleopteran, an ancient winged-insect lineage. A magazine article describes it as sharing traits with Volcarona, with few reported sightings. It is the only Bug type with a quadruped body, excluding forms of Arceus and Silvally. Slither Wing and Iron Moth count as counterparts: each shares one type with Volcarona, they are the first Paradox Pokémon the AI Professors use against the player, and they are the only Paradox Pokémon found naturally alongside their relative.
It is based on Volcarona and likely the same moths Volcarona draws from, such as the Atlas moth or cecropia moth, while its elongated, flightless abdomen suggests ties to female specimens of the bagworm moth Cebysa leucotelus; it also bears some resemblance to a Stegosaurus.
Slither Wing debuted as an Uncommon in Paradox Rift illustrated by Anesaki Dynamic, alongside an Illustration Rare by Takeshi Nakamura in the same set. Shrouded Fable later added a further Uncommon printing illustrated by Shinji Kanda.

No, it has no evolutionary family members.
Both share a type with Volcarona and are considered counterparts, though they do not share a type with each other.
