Shinx is the Flash Pokémon, an Electric type introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Its abilities are Rivalry, which raises or lowers its damage depending on whether the target shares its gender, and Intimidate, which lowers an opposing Pokémon's Attack when Shinx enters battle; its hidden ability is Guts. Shinx becomes Luxio at level 15 and then Luxray at level 30.
Shinx arrived on cards in the Diamond & Pearl set: its #98 there, from May 2007, is a Common illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Our catalog lists 25 Shinx printings across 20 sets spanning seven eras, from Diamond & Pearl into the Mega Evolution era, and 23 of those 25 are Commons. The two exceptions are a Rare numbered SH12 in Arceus (2009), illustrated by sui, and a Shiny rare in Paldean Fates (2024), illustrated by Saya Tsuruta. Ken Sugimori, Saya Tsuruta, sui and Uta each have two Shinx credits.
Shinx debuted in Not On MY Watch Ya Don't!, owned by a Trainer named Landis. From Camping It Up! onward in the Diamond and Pearl series, a Trainer named Angie keeps a Shinx as her main Pokémon, usually outside its Poké Ball. The XY series gave it a backstory with Clemont: in A Campus Reunion! he meets again the Shinx he befriended as a child, which has since evolved into Luxio, and catches it.

A 2026 Common from the Mega Evolution era, illustrated by Saboteri.

Ranked by each card’s main print in near-mint raw condition. 1st Edition, Shadowless and other versions are priced on each card’s page. The table updates live.
The leading card among the most valuable Shinx cards is the Reverse Holo from Arceus, 2009. All 25 Shinx cards carry a market value, and the ten leaders hold 99 percent of the total, so Shinx card value sits almost entirely in a short list. The priced cards run from 2007 to 2026, and the Diamond & Pearl era supplies the top spot.
The Arceus Reverse Holo from 2009 leads Shinx card value by 2.6 times over the next card, the DP Black Star Promos Shinx from 2007, a Common. Third is the Paldean Fates Shinx from 2024, a Shiny rare. Fourth and fifth are the Legends Awakened Shinx from 2008 and the Diamond & Pearl Shinx from 2007, both printed as Commons. A reverse holo is a card printed with a foil pattern over everything except the artwork box.
Of the twenty-five leading Shinx cards, 7 come from Diamond & Pearl and 7 from Sword & Shield, with 4 from Scarlet & Violet, 2 from Black & White and 2 from XY. The newest era's leader is the Perfect Order Shinx from 2026, in the Mega Evolution era, 18th overall. Vintage here means the WOTC era and modern is every later era: all 10 of the top ten and all 25 of the top twenty-five are modern cards.
Among the ten leading Shinx cards, 8 are Commons, 1 is a Rare (reverse holo) and 1 is a Shiny rare. The one named print in that group is the single Reverse Holo, which is also the top card. Widening to the leading twenty-five, 23 are Commons, with the same lone Rare (reverse holo) and the same lone Shiny rare. Shinx cards led by value are overwhelmingly Commons, and Reverse Holo is the only named print among them.
By the value of its single leading card, Shinx ranks 156th of 1020 species with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 213rd of 753. In its evolution line, Luxray ranks 205th of 1020 by top card and Luxio 346th, so Shinx's best card ranks ahead of both. The Shinx card market rests on one leading card and a short group behind it rather than a broad spread of high-value prints.
