Rockruff

Rockruff in the anime

Rockruff appeared in The Guardian's Challenge! under Professor Kukui's care, and Ash officially caught it in Rocking Clawmark Hill!; it evolved into a Dusk Form Lycanroc in Rising from the Ruins!. Murdock's Rockruff first appeared in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part Two) and was later revealed to have evolved into a Midday Form Lycanroc by Reunion in Cortondo.

Rockruff on the card

Rockruff shares its Puppy Pokémon category with Growlithe, Lillipup, Yamper, and Fidough, and is thought to be based on spitz breed dogs or the rock-associated Japanese wolf, with its rock-studded ruff resembling a wolf collar. Its first cards are 2017 SM Trainer Kit prints by match, and Guardians Rising carried its first expansion card by Naoki Saito. Hideki Ishikawa, who drew an SM Black Star promo, returned for a Silver Tempest Trainer Gallery Holo Rare, and Journey Together added a common illustrated by Yoshimi Miyoshi.
