Nuzleaf

Nuzleaf in the games

Nuzleaf is the Wily Pokémon, a Grass/Dark type that evolves from Seedot at level 14 and evolves into Shiftry with a Leaf Stone. It uses the leaf on its head as a flute, making music that creates a sense of unease in people, though it can also play comforting melodies, and if its long nose is grabbed it will lose its power. Nuzleaf lives in tropical forests and is skilled at climbing, using a sound like a grass whistle to warn off wandering intruders. In Generation III, Extrasensory was its signature move, though other Pokémon could still learn it through breeding.

Nuzleaf in the anime

In Turning Over a Nuzleaf, several Nuzleaf caused trouble while the Pokémon of Ash and his friends were separated from their Trainers and lost in a forest. In Jump For Joy!, several Nuzleaf lived in an old tree alongside Seedot and a Shiftry, with one requiring Nurse Joy's attention before Shiftry kidnapped her. A Nuzleaf under Yoko's ownership brought Gardenia a note in The Grass-Type is Always Greener and later refereed her Gym battle in The Grass Menagerie!, while another Nuzleaf befriended Brock's Sudowoodo after getting separated from its colony in Leave it to Brocko!.
