Shiftry

Shiftry in the anime: from kidnapper to Frontier Brain's opener

Shiftry's anime debut came in "Jump for Joy!," where one carried Nurse Joy off to its lair so she could treat an injured Nuzleaf. Tyson brought a Shiftry to the Ever Grande Conference, where it lost to Ash's Torkoal in "At the End of the Fray," and Battle Palace Frontier Brain Spenser led with a Shiftry against Ash in "Ka Boom with a View!" before it fell to Ash's Sceptile.

Crystal Guardians introduced Shiftry ex, illustrated by Ryo Ueda, the same year, and Power Keepers printed Shiftry ex again in 2007.

Celestial Storm (2018) gave Shiftry its biggest single set: Shiftry GX as a regular holo, a full art Ultra Rare at #152 and a Secret Rare at #169, numbered above the 168-card set, all illustrated by PLANETA Igarashi.
