Noivern

Noivern in the anime: Ash's Kalos flier

Ash Ketchum hatched a Noibat during the Kalos series, and it evolved into Noivern in "An Electrifying Rage!" while rescuing Hawlucha during a fight with a wild Zapdos. It stayed on Ash's team for the rest of the Kalos series and was later left at Professor Oak's Laboratory when Ash set out for Alola.

Noivern on cards: from a 2014 Trainer Kit to BREAK, GX, V and ex

Noivern's first cards came in the XY Trainer Kit, a two-player product released in March 2014 with a Sylveon half deck and a Noivern half deck, the year after its game debut. Furious Fists gave it a Rare later that year. From there it picked up each of the card game's big mechanics in turn: a Noivern BREAK in BREAKthrough (2015), Noivern GX in Burning Shadows (2017) with full art and Secret Rare versions, a shiny Noivern-GX in the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault (2019), three Noivern V cards in Evolving Skies (2021), and Noivern ex in Paldea Evolved (2023), Paldean Fates (2024) and Prismatic Evolutions (2025). Ascended Heroes (2026) printed it as a plain Uncommon.

5ban Graphics drew more Noivern cards than any other illustrator, including the BREAK and every GX version. Mitsuhiro Arita drew the regular BREAKthrough Noivern and the alternate art Noivern V in Evolving Skies, where Ayaka Yoshida drew the regular and full art V. Eske Yoshinob illustrated the full art Noivern ex in Paldea Evolved and its shiny counterpart in Paldean Fates.
