Noibat is a Flying/Dragon type that rests in pitch black caves during the day and only leaves at night, emitting sound from its large, loudspeaker-like ears. It evolves into Noivern at level 48. Its German name, eF-eM, is the only Pokémon name in the Latin alphabet that does not start with a capital letter.
Noibat and its evolution are notable as the only dual Flying/Dragon type Pokémon to have Flying as their primary type, and Noibat has the lowest base stat total and lowest base Attack stat of all Dragon types. It can be seen as a parallel to Zubat, with the same base stats apart from swapped Attack and Special Attack, and the possible Infiltrator ability. Its design draws on fruit bats, insect-eating bats, and wyverns.
Ash's male Noibat hatched from an Egg in A Not-So-Flying Start! and evolved into a Noivern in An Electrifying Rage!. Multiple Noibat were introduced in Calling from Beyond the Aura!, encountering Ash and his friends after being agitated by Team Rocket, and a Noibat appeared in Pikachu, What's This Key? as a resident of an icy world reached through Klefki's keys. Five Noibat appeared in the Hoopa's Surprise Ring Adventures short In the Dark, among Pokémon rudely awakened by Hoopa's summoning of multiple Litwick.
Noibat was introduced in the XY era across an XY Trainer Kit, Furious Fists, and two BREAKthrough commons, continuing into Burning Shadows, Forbidden Light, Unified Minds, and a Hidden Fates Shiny Vault shiny rare.
The Sword & Shield era carried a Silver Tempest common, and the Scarlet & Violet era added Paldea Evolved and Paldean Fates commons plus a Paldean Fates shiny rare, followed by Prismatic Evolutions and a Journey Together common and illustration rare pairing.

The value of Noibat cards is packed into very few hands: the ten leading cards hold 96 percent of the total, so the rest of the species barely registers. The most valuable Noibat card is the Common from the XY trainer Kit (Noivern) set in 2014. All 17 Noibat cards carry a market value, and they span the years 2014 to 2026.
The XY trainer Kit (Noivern) Common from 2014 leads Noibat card value, and it sits about equal to the next card, the Journey Together illustration rare from 2025. An illustration rare is a full-art style card with artwork running across the frame. Third is the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault shiny rare from 2019, followed by the Paldean Fates shiny rare from 2024. Both are shiny variants of the Pokémon, one from the Sun & Moon era and one from Scarlet & Violet.
Noibat cards in the top twenty-five break down as six from Scarlet & Violet, five from XY, four from Sun & Moon, one from Sword & Shield and one from Mega Evolution. The newest era's leader is the Ascended Heroes card from 2026, which sits 12th overall. Every one of the ten leading cards is modern, and so are 17 of the leading twenty-five, with none from the WOTC era, which is what vintage means here.
Among the ten most valuable Noibat cards, seven are Commons, two are Shiny rares and one is an Illustration rare. Widening to the leading twenty-five, 14 are Commons, with the same two Shiny rares and single Illustration rare. No 1st Edition, Shadowless or reverse holo prints appear among the leaders, so the Noibat card list is led by Commons with a few higher rarities mixed in.
By the value of its single leading card, Noibat ranks 842nd of 1020 species with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 591st of 753. In its evolution line, Noivern ranks 281st of 1020 by top card, well ahead of Noibat. Noibat cards therefore sit in the lower part of the species table, with value held by a small group of cards rather than spread across the line.
