Magnemite debuted in Generation I as a pure Electric type and became a dual Electric and Steel type from Generation II onward, when the Steel type was added to the games. It stands 0.3 meters tall and weighs 6 kilograms, and its abilities are Magnet Pull and Sturdy, with Analytic as its hidden ability.
Magnemite evolves into Magneton at level 30. Magneton's evolution into Magnezone depends on the game: in some it levels up in an area with a special magnetic field, in others it needs a Thunder Stone.
Magnemite's first card is Base Set #53 from January 1999, a Common illustrated by Keiji Kinebuchi. Gym Heroes (2000) followed with two different Lt. Surge's Magnemite cards (#50 and #80), part of that set's Gym Leader's Pokémon cards; Lt. Surge is the Electric type Gym Leader of Vermilion City. Neo Discovery (2001) then printed Magnemite as a Metal type card, echoing its new Steel typing, as a holo rare (#7) with a non-holo counterpart (#26). Aquapolis and Skyridge (2003) closed out the WOTC era with more Commons and Uncommons.
Outside the numbered sets it appeared in the 2018 McDonald's Collection, illustrated by MAHOU. Hidden Fates (2019) gave it a shiny rare in its Shiny Vault subset, and Cosmic Eclipse (2019) printed a Secret Rare Magnemite by Fumie Kittaka, numbered above that set's 236-card total.
Magnemite is mostly a Common card, which makes its few standouts easy to pick out: the Lt. Surge's Magnemite pair from Gym Heroes, the Neo Discovery Metal type holo, the Shiny Vault card and the Cosmic Eclipse Secret Rare. Across 47 printings in 36 sets, it appears in all ten eras from WOTC to Mega Evolution.
