Feraligatr in the games: Johto's Water starter, fully evolved early

Feraligatr closes out the Totodile line. Totodile becomes Croconaw at level 18, which ties Turtwig for the highest first-evolution level of any starter, and Croconaw becomes Feraligatr at level 30, the earliest final evolution of any starter line. Its ability is Torrent, which powers up Water moves when its HP is low, and its hidden ability is Sheer Force. It stands 2.3 meters tall and weighs 88.8 kilograms.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A added Mega Feraligatr, which becomes a Water and Dragon type. In Gold, Silver and their remakes, Feraligatr is also tied to the rival Silver, Giovanni's son, whenever he takes Totodile as his starter.

Feraligatr in the anime and manga

In the anime, a Feraligatr named Wani-Wani belongs to Marina, who received it as a Totodile in the special The Legend of Thunder! and later appears with it fully evolved in A Stand-Up Sit-Down!. Silver's Feraligatr makes a brief cameo in the music video GOTCHA!. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Silver's Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr to shield Gold, Crystal and himself from Lugia.

Feraligatr on cards: Neo Genesis holos to Mega Feraligatr ex

Feraligatr debuted on cards in Neo Genesis in December 2000 with two different holo Stage 2 cards, #4 and #5, both illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Neo Destiny added Dark Feraligatr in 2002, drawn by Atsuko Nishida, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated the Expedition Base Set versions later that year.

The EX era gave it two very different takes: Feraligatr ex in Unseen Forces (2005), illustrated by Hikaru Koike, and Feraligatr δ in Dragon Frontiers (2006), a Delta Species card that prints it as a Lightning type. HeartGold SoulSilver (2010) made it one of the set's Prime cards, drawn by Kent Kanetsuna. In the Mega Evolution era, Ascended Heroes (2026) brought Mega Feraligatr ex, including a special illustration rare by Souichirou Gunjima.
