Donphan

Donphan in the anime

Ash's own Phanpy evolved into a Donphan in Reversing the Charges and proved an excellent team member in every subsequent battle. Donphan also made a brief appearance in Mewtwo Strikes Back under trainer Raymond, landing two hits with Rollout before losing to Bulbasaur's Solar Beam, a scene repeated in the remake Mewtwo Strikes Back, Evolution. A Shiny Donphan later became the object of romantic pursuit for several rivals in Date Expectations, Rochelle used four Donphan to find amberite in Roll On, Pokémon!, and Kellyn used his Capture Styler to capture one and smash through cave-ins in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 2).

Donphan across the eras

Donphan's earliest cards came from 2000's Neo Genesis, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, followed by a Neo Destiny Dark Donphan from Shin-ichi Yoshida and an Aquapolis Rare by Mitsuhiro Arita. HeartGold SoulSilver gave it a Rare PRIME treatment by Kent Kanetsuna, and the Mega Evolution era continued Donphan into Chaos Rising with a Common by Julie Hang.
