Dewgong

Dewgong in the anime

The Cerulean Gym's Seel evolved into a Dewgong in The Misty Mermaid, marking the species' debut. Neesha first used a Dewgong to travel to New Island in Mewtwo Strikes Back before it was captured and cloned by Mewtwo, a role it repeated in the remake Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. Pryce also owned a Dewgong across several episodes, including Rage of Innocence and As Cold as Pryce, where it defeated Ash's Phanpy in an unofficial battle before being defeated by Cyndaquil in their official Gym match.

Kouki Saitou illustrated both a Skyridge Rare and Holo Rare Dewgong, and Dragon Frontiers later added a delta species Dewgong illustrated by Atsuko Nishida. The Mega Evolution era brought Dewgong back with Phantasmal Flames' Common and illustration rare printings, plus a 2026 Perfect Order Rare.
