Bunnelby is the Digging Pokémon, a small gray rabbit-like Normal type with large ears tipped in dark brown, evolving into Diggersby at level 20. Its ears end in finger-like sections that work as digging tools through soil and roots, and it can burrow through the whole night to make a nest of up to 33 feet.
It is wary of danger and burrows out of sight when it hears the wingbeats of Corviknight, one of its natural predators.
Bunnelby seems to be based on a rabbit, with its ability to use its ears as digging tools to excavate through earth and roots possibly referencing trowels or shovels. Its Japanese name Horubee may combine horu, to dig, with rabbit and possibly wallaby or baby, while the English name Bunnelby may combine bunny and tunnel, with a possible nod to wallaby as well.
Bunnelby's first card was a 2013 Kalos Starter Set printing illustrated by 5ban Graphics, who also illustrated its main XY set Common printing the following year. Primal Clash gave the line two separate printings, a Common and an Uncommon, both in 2015.
Bunnelby has remained mostly a Common rarity since, appearing in Crimson Invasion, Rebel Clash, Darkness Ablaze and Fusion Strike, with Shining Fates adding a Shiny Rare version in its Shiny Vault illustrated by Misa Tsutsui. The Mega Evolution era's Perfect Order set later added a Common printing illustrated by MINAMINAMI Take.

Bunnelby cards span 2013 to 2026, and all 16 of them carry a market value. The most valuable Bunnelby card is the McDonald's Collection 2014 print, which sits first in the value ranking. The ten leading cards hold 97 percent of the total value, so Bunnelby card value is concentrated almost entirely at the top of the list, with the remaining six cards sharing the last few percent between them.
The McDonald's Collection 2014 Bunnelby leads the most valuable Bunnelby cards by 10.5 times over the next card, the SWSH Black Star Promos entry from 2019, a Promo. Third is the Shining Fates Shiny Vault card from 2021, a Shiny rare, which is the shiny-variant rarity printed in that set's vault subset. Fourth is the Kalos Starter Set card from 2013, followed by the Primal Clash Uncommon from 2015. The leader's lead over the field is wide.
Of the twenty-five leading Bunnelby cards, seven come from the XY era, five from Sword & Shield, two from Sun & Moon, one from Scarlet & Violet and one from Mega Evolution. The newest era's leader is the Perfect Order Bunnelby from 2026, which places 16th overall. Vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era, and the split is entirely modern: all ten leaders are modern cards, and so are the 16 cards counted in the top twenty-five.
The ten most valuable Bunnelby cards are mostly everyday rarities. Five are Common, with one each of Promo, Shiny rare and Uncommon among the ten. Widening to the top twenty-five, 11 are Common, alongside the same single Promo, Shiny rare and Uncommon. The leading Bunnelby cards are mainly standard set prints, with a promo and a shiny-vault card among them.
By the value of its single leading card, Bunnelby ranks 585th of 1020 species with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 586th of 753. The one other member of the evolution line, Diggersby, ranks 1000th of 1020 by its top card. The Bunnelby card market is a thin one, with the McDonald's Collection 2014 card carrying most of the value.
