Vikavolt's origin

Vikavolt looks like a cross between a stag beetle and a railgun, and its English name likely joins vise grip with volt. Its Japanese name, Kuwagannon, blends the word for stag beetle with cannon. It shares the Stag Beetle Pokémon category with Pinsir.

Vikavolt on cards

Vikavolt's first card was a 2017 Sun & Moon Rare illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga, who returned for its Temporal Forces card in 2024. Guardians Rising gave it three GX cards by 5ban Graphics, two Ultra Rares and a Secret Rare. In the Sword & Shield era kawayoo drew a Rebel Clash Holo Rare and nagimiso a Fusion Strike Rare, and KEIICHIRO ITO drew its Pitch Black card in the Mega Evolution era. Darkness Ablaze later added a Vikavolt V in both Holo Rare and Ultra Rare forms illustrated by Ayaka Yoshida, Shiburingaru drew both its Stellar Crown and Ascended Heroes Uncommons, and Tonji Matsuno painted an Ascended Heroes Illustration Rare.
