Swellow is the Swallow Pokémon, a large dark-blue bird with a red breast and face, a backward-swept crest, and two long tail feathers whose good condition signals health. It is an impressive dive-bomber that never misses its target and preys on Wurmple.
Swellow evolves from Taillow at level 22. It takes great pride in its glossy plumage and often cleans the wings of other Swellow.
In That's Just Swellow, Ash's Taillow evolved into a Swellow during the final round of the Crossgate PokeRinger competition. Swellow debuted separately in Candid Camerupt, where Vito of the Winstrate family used it to secretly protect his family.
Swellow's earliest card is the 2003 Ruby and Sapphire Uncommon illustrated by Ken Sugimori, followed by the Dragon Uncommon by Mitsuhiro Arita. Dragon Frontiers later added a delta species Uncommon by Sumiyoshi Kizuki.
Roaring Skies carried two Rares by Sanosuke Sakuma and Mitsuhiro Arita, and the 2025 Destined Rivals set carried a Common by Souichirou Gunjima.

Ranked by each card’s main print in near-mint raw condition. 1st Edition, Shadowless and other versions are priced on each card’s page. The table updates live.
The most valuable Swellow card is the Holo Rare from Roaring Skies, printed in 2015. All 14 Swellow cards carry a market value, spread across prints from 2003 to 2025, and the ten leading cards hold 95 percent of the total, so Swellow card value sits almost entirely in a short list. The Roaring Skies card leads, and the Swellow cards from POP Series 1, Dragon and Dragon Frontiers follow it.
The Roaring Skies Holo Rare from 2015 leads Swellow card value by 1.3 times over the next card, the Common from POP Series 1 in 2004. Third is the Uncommon from Dragon in 2003, and fourth is the Uncommon Swellow δ from Dragon Frontiers in 2006. A holo carries a foil-treated illustration, which makes the Roaring Skies card the only holo among the leaders, while the others are standard-finish prints of Common, Uncommon or Rare rarity.
Most Swellow cards among the twenty-five leaders come from the EX era, which supplies 7 of them, followed by 3 from XY and one each from Diamond & Pearl, Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet. The newest era's best Swellow card is the Destined Rivals print from 2025, 13th overall. All ten of the leading cards are modern, and so are all 14 of the leading twenty-five, with none from the WOTC era.
Among the ten most valuable Swellow cards, 6 are Uncommon, 2 are Rare, 1 is Common and 1 is Holo Rare. Widening to the leading twenty-five, the count is 7 Uncommon, 4 Rare, 2 Common and 1 Holo Rare. Standard-rarity prints make up nearly the whole list, and the single Holo Rare is the one holo among them.
By the value of its single leading card, Swellow ranks 930th of 1020 species with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 653rd of 753. In its evolution line, Taillow ranks 994th of 1020 by leading card. The Swellow market rests on one Holo Rare and a run of older, standard-rarity prints, with little separating the lower-ranked cards from the leaders.
