Pidgeotto

Pidgeotto in the anime

Ash caught a Pidgeotto in Ash Catches a Pokémon, marking the species' animated series appearance, and it remained on his team until evolving into Pidgeot and being released in Pallet Party Panic to protect a flock of wild Pidgey and Pidgeotto. Six Pidgeotto were also attacked by a flock of Spearow and a Fearow in that same episode, and Benji's father used a Pidgeotto as part of his mountain patrol in Mountain Time.
