Electrike evolves into Manectric at level 26, and the line stops there. Manectric has two regular abilities, Static, which can paralyze an attacker that makes contact, and Lightning Rod, which draws in Electric-type moves, plus the hidden ability Minus, which works alongside an ally that has Plus or Minus. Pokémon X and Y introduced the Manectite, which lets Manectric Mega Evolve into Mega Manectric: still pure Electric, with a larger mane and the Intimidate ability.
Manectric's anime debut came in "Watt's with Wattson?" as the Electrike of Wattson, the Mauville City Gym Leader. It evolved in "A Manectric Charge", where it battled Ash's Torkoal and won. In the XY series, Kalos's Officer Jennys mostly work with Manectric instead of the Growlithe they use in other regions.
Manectric's first two cards arrived together in Ruby & Sapphire (2003): an Uncommon illustrated by Ken Sugimori and a holo rare by Mitsuhiro Arita. Team Magma vs Team Aqua (2004) added Team Aqua's Manectric, Deoxys (2005) printed Manectric ex, and holo rares followed in Emerald, Crystal Guardians and Platinum.
Phantom Forces (2014) brought Mega Manectric to cards alongside Manectric EX: the EX has a full art at #113 by Ryo Ueda, and M Manectric EX by 5ban Graphics appears at #24 and as a secret rare at #120, numbered above the set's 119 cards. The 2025 Mega Evolution set revisited the idea with Mega Manectric ex, and Pitch Black (2026) added an illustration rare by HICO KIM.
Manectric is a mid-tier favorite rather than a headline Pokémon, which keeps a full run within reach. Its Phantom Forces EX and Mega EX cards are the centerpiece, flanked by EX-era holos and a Team Aqua printing on one side and modern illustration art on the other.
