Krabby evolves into Kingler and is protected by a strong outer shell, using its two large red pincers as its main offense; if a claw is lost or damaged in battle, it regenerates over a short period. Its National Pokédex and Galar Pokédex numbers both happen to be 098.
Ash caught a Krabby in Mystery at the Lighthouse and later used it in Round One - Begin!, where it defeated an Exeggutor at the Indigo Plateau Conference and evolved into Kingler. Goh later caught his own Krabby in Getting More Than You Battled For! while at Cero Island.
Krabby's first card came in Fossil as a Common illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, followed by Expedition Base Set. FireRed and LeafGreen and Crystal Guardians carried it through the EX era, then Great Encounters, Phantom Forces, and Generations kept it in circulation. Sword and Shield printed two separate Commons at launch, and the 151 set brought Krabby into the Scarlet and Violet era illustrated by Yukiko Baba.

Ranked by each card’s main print in near-mint raw condition. 1st Edition, Shadowless and other versions are priced on each card’s page. The table updates live.
Krabby cards span 1999 to 2023, and the most valuable Krabby card is the Common from Expedition Base Set, printed in 2002. All 11 Krabby cards carry a market value, and the ten leading cards hold 99 percent of the total, so Krabby card value sits almost entirely in those ten. Every one of them is a Common, which makes the set and year the whole story of the ranking.
Expedition Base Set leads the most valuable Krabby cards by 3.5 times over the next card, the Crystal Guardians Common from 2006. Third is the Fossil Common from 1999, followed by the FireRed & LeafGreen Common from 2004, with Great Encounters from 2008 in 5th. All of them carry the printed rarity Common, so the spread among Krabby cards comes from which set and year a card belongs to rather than from rarity.
Of the twenty-five leading Krabby cards, two come from WOTC, two from EX, two from XY and two from Sword & Shield, with Diamond & Pearl, Sun & Moon and Scarlet & Violet holding one each. Vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era: the top ten holds 2 vintage and 8 modern cards, and the top twenty-five holds 2 vintage and 9 modern. The newest era's leader is the Scarlet & Violet Krabby from 151 in 2023, 10th overall.
By the value of its single leading card, Krabby ranks 891st of 1020 species with priced cards, and by the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 725th of 753. Its evolution line partner Kingler ranks 226th of 1020 by top card, well ahead of Krabby. The Krabby card market is built from a spread of Commons across many sets rather than one standout print, and the line's stronger top card belongs to Kingler.
