Haxorus is a Dragon type, the final form of Axew, evolving from Fraxure at level 48. Its prized, unbreakable tusks can cut through steel beams, and according to Junichi Masuda it was the very first Pokémon designed for Black and White, sketched by a newly hired designer while Platinum was still in development. Haxorus and Druddigon were the first fully evolved Dragon types with no secondary type.
Iris's Axew was revealed to have fully evolved into Haxorus in Thrash of the Titans!. Drayden's Haxorus had earlier defeated Iris's Excadrill in a flashback battle shown in Iris and Excadrill Against the Dragon Buster!, then physically appeared in a tie against Excadrill in Drayden Versus Iris: Past, Present, and Future!.
Haxorus's first English card was a 2011 Noble Victories Rare illustrated by Kouki Saitou, followed by a Dark Explorers Rare from Akira Komayama the next year. Later illustrators include Eske Yoshinob on Dragon Vault, Uta on Brilliant Stars, and a 2025 Black Bolt release pairing a Rare by Taiga Kasai with an Illustration Rare by akagi.
