Greavard evolves into Houndstone starting at level 30 when leveled up at night. It usually rests underground with only its candle-like head protrusion visible, letting out a spooky cry when approached, though it is friendly, affectionate, and easily lonely, with serrated lips standing in for teeth.
Greavard seems to be based mainly on the Iberian Catalan Sheepdog, drawing on other long-haired dog breeds too, with its habit of bursting from underground echoing depictions of the undead rising from their graves, and its head growth doubling as a grave candle.
Greavard's set cards began in the base Scarlet & Violet set with two Commons and an illustration rare by sowsow, then two more Commons in Obsidian Flames. Paldean Fates and Stellar Crown each added a further Common before the Mega Evolution era's dedicated Mega Evolution set contributed a Common by Narumi Sato. An SVP Black Star Promo by Nisota Niso also exists.

Greavard cards span 2023 to 2025, and every one of the 9 Greavard cards carries a market value. The most valuable Greavard card is the Illustration rare from Scarlet & Violet in 2023, which leads the ranking ahead of the SVP Black Star Promos entry from the same year. Greavard card value falls away quickly after those two, with the remaining cards sitting in common rarities from Obsidian Flames, Scarlet & Violet, Paldean Fates, Mega Evolution and Stellar Crown.
The Scarlet & Violet Illustration rare from 2023 leads the most valuable Greavard cards by 32.4 times over the next card. An illustration rare is a card whose artwork extends across most of the card face. The runner-up is the Promo from SVP Black Star Promos, also 2023. The 3rd and 4th Greavard cards are both Commons from Obsidian Flames, 2023, followed by Commons from Scarlet & Violet in the same year.
Of the 9 leading Greavard cards, 8 come from the Scarlet & Violet era and 1 from Mega Evolution. The newest era's leader is the Mega Evolution Common from the Mega Evolution set, 2025, which sits 8th overall. Vintage here means the WOTC era, and modern is every later era. All 9 of the top ten Greavard cards are modern, with none from vintage, and the same 9 to 0 split holds across the top twenty-five. Greavard card value is built entirely on recent sets.
Among the ten leading Greavard cards, 7 are Common, 1 is an Illustration rare and 1 is a Promo. The top twenty-five reads the same, since Greavard has only 9 priced cards. No holo, reverse holo, 1st Edition or Shadowless prints appear among the most valuable Greavard cards. Commons make up most of the list, with the Illustration rare and the Promo as the other two entries.
Ranked by the value of its single leading card, Greavard is 505th of 1020 species with priced cards, placing it near the middle. Its evolution line has one other member, Houndstone, which ranks 922nd of 1020 by its top card. Greavard sits well ahead of Houndstone in the line, and the Greavard card market rests on one Illustration rare, a Promo and a run of Commons.
