Floragato

Floragato in the anime

Floragato appeared in From So Far Away, after Liko's Sprigatito evolved during a battle against the Black Rayquaza. She Terastallized into a Grass type in Put Your Heart Into It! during a Tera Training battle against Katy, and evolved into Meowscarada while battling the White Zygarde in The Earthshaking White Zygarde.

Floragato's origin

Floragato seems to be based on a cat or an Iberian lynx, with its face, hand, and feet coloration possibly drawing on Siamese or Himalayan cat breeds with point coloration. Its rogue-like behavior may also reference a hero from a Picaresque novel, a form of Spanish literature depicting rogue archetypes, with the boot scallop patterns on its legs recalling Puss in Boots.

Floragato's first card is a 2023 Scarlet & Violet Uncommon illustrated by Kouki Saitou. Paldea Evolved added an Uncommon by nagimiso and an Illustration rare by Kouki Saitou, and Journey Together later contributed a Common illustrated by Felicia Chen.
