Drowzee

Drowzee on cards: Base Set, Sabrina and Team Rocket

Drowzee's first card is Base Set #49 (1999), illustrated by Ken Sugimori, who is credited on five Drowzee printings. The Gym sets tied it to Sabrina, the Saffron City Gym Leader who specializes in Psychic types, with two different Sabrina's Drowzee cards: Gym Heroes #92 by Atsuko Nishida and Gym Challenge #95 by Sugimori (both 2000).

A quarter century later, Destined Rivals (2025) printed Team Rocket's Drowzee, one of the Trainer's Pokémon cards that Journey Together and Destined Rivals brought back to the game.

Tomokazu Komiya's two Drowzee cards

Of the 26 Drowzee printings in our catalog, 24 are Common, one is an Uncommon from FireRed & LeafGreen (2004), and one is an Illustration rare. That illustration rare, Scarlet & Violet #210 (2023), was drawn by Tomokazu Komiya, the same artist behind the Delta Species Drowzee in 2005, so the same artist drew Drowzee 18 years apart.
