Dewott is a bipedal, otter-like Pokémon, light blue with a fringed dark blue waist and two detachable scalchops worn on its thighs. It has a studious, stern nature and regularly trains combat techniques with its scalchops, refining flowing double-scalchop maneuvers through dedicated practice, its skills said to be capable of defeating even masters of the art, and it carefully maintains each shell's quality. It evolves from Oshawott at level 17, and into Samurott at level 36, or Hisuian Samurott in Hisui.
Burgundy first used a Dewott in a loss to Cilan in A Connoisseur's Revenge!, and later against Iris in Search for the Clubultimate!, where it fell to Excadrill. Halsey's prideful Dewott helped put out fires in The Pokémon Harbor Patrol!, causing friction with Halsey's Watchog, and multiple trainers' Dewott, including Cadbury's nicknamed Caesar, competed in the Scalchop King Competition in Crowning the Scalchop King!. Ann's Oshawott evolved into Dewott in Welcome to Naranja Academy! before evolving again into Samurott.
Dewott and its evolutionary relatives were designed by Yusuke Ohmura and are based on a sea otter and samurai, with its two-scalchop fighting style possibly drawing on Tessenjutsu war-fan martial arts; its line as a whole traces a samurai's life from child to young warrior to military commander. Its Black & White uncommons illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda and 5ban Graphics were followed by new uncommons in Boundaries Crossed, Legendary Treasures, Steam Siege, Vivid Voltage, and Astral Radiance. The Scarlet & Violet era's White Flare paired a common with an Illustration rare by Taira Akitsu.

Dewott cards span 2011 to 2025, and the most valuable Dewott card is the Illustration rare from White Flare, a 2025 Scarlet & Violet release. All 10 of the species' cards carry a market value, which makes the ranking a short one: the leader sits well clear of a field made up almost entirely of Uncommon prints from the Black & White era onward.
White Flare's Illustration rare leads Dewott card value by 1.6 times over the next card, the Black & White era Dewott from McDonald's Collection 2012. Third and fourth are Uncommon prints from Black & White in 2011 and Legendary Treasures in 2013, with Boundaries Crossed from 2012 close behind at fifth. An illustration rare is a card where the artwork extends across much of the frame, and it is the only card of that kind among these leaders.
Black & White supplies five of the twenty-five leading Dewott cards, Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet two each, and XY one. The newest era's leader is the White Flare Illustration rare from 2025, which sits 1st overall. Vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era, and the split is entirely modern: ten of ten in the top ten and ten of ten in the top twenty-five.
Among the most valuable Dewott cards, the printed rarities in the leading ten are Uncommon for seven cards, Common for one card from White Flare, and Illustration rare for one card, also from White Flare. Widening to the leading twenty-five Dewott cards gives the same counts: seven Uncommon, one Common and one Illustration rare. These are the print types behind Dewott card value across the ranking.
By the value of its single leading card, Dewott ranks 633rd of 1020 species with priced cards, and 557th of 753 by the combined value of its ten leaders. Within the evolution line, Oshawott ranks 291st of 1020 and Samurott 333rd by top card, so both neighbours sit ahead of Dewott. That makes the Dewott card market a modest one, led by a single 2025 Illustration rare over a field of Uncommon prints.
