Dedenne

Dedenne in the anime: Clemont's catch, Bonnie's companion

Ash, Clemont and Bonnie first meet a wild Dedenne in the XY episode "A Battle of Aerial Mobility!", and Clemont catches it in the next episode, "A Shockingly Cheeky Friendship!", at Bonnie's request. Bonnie is too young to be a Trainer, so Dedenne rides in her satchel instead of its Poké Ball, with the plan that she will raise it when she is old enough. It stays with her through the end of the XY series.

Dedenne on cards: Furious Fists to an illustration rare

Dedenne's first card is Furious Fists #34 (2014), an Uncommon illustrated by 5ban Graphics. Unbroken Bonds (2019) gave it Dedenne GX in three printings: the regular card, a full art Ultra Rare and a Secret Rare numbered beyond the set total. Shining Fates' Shiny Vault (2021) added a Shiny rare, and Brilliant Stars' Trainer Gallery (2022) included a Dedenne as well.

Paldea Evolved (2023) printed Dedenne ex as a Double rare and as a full art Ultra Rare at #239, both drawn by aky CG Works. Perfect Order (2026) split its Dedenne between a Common and an Illustration rare by HYOGONOSUKE.

Why collectors follow Dedenne

Dedenne is a single stage Pokémon with no legendary status, yet it has picked up a GX, an ex, a Shiny Vault card, a Trainer Gallery card and an illustration rare across five TCG eras from XY to Mega Evolution. Its anime role as Bonnie's companion gives it a following that runs well beyond its battle record.
