Chesnaught

Chesnaught in the anime

Chesnaught debuted in Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction as Millis Steel's main Pokémon, and made its animated series debut in a dream sequence in Dream a Little Dream from Me!. A Chesnaught under Chapman's ownership protected Robon while restoring a forest in A Watershed Moment!, and Alain's Chesnaught fought Leon's Rillaboom in the Masters Eight Tournament in Curtain Up! Fight the Fights!, losing the bout.

Chesnaught's origins and cards

Chesnaught seems based on a hedgehog combined with a matured chestnut, with armored mammal influences such as pangolins, armadillos, and glyptodonts, and also draws on knights, its bulky armor evoking a chestnut's protective calybium and cupule. Its XY era cards include two XY Black Star promos, including a Chesnaught EX, a Kalos Starter Set printing and the XY set's Rare, both by 5ban Graphics, and BREAKthrough added a Rare by Mitsuhiro Arita and an Ultra Rare Chesnaught BREAK. The Sword & Shield era's Silver Tempest paired a Holo Rare V with an Ultra Rare, both illustrated by N-DESIGN Inc., and the Mega Evolution era's Chaos Rising added a Rare by Uta.
