Bisharp

Bisharp in the games: a pack leader that evolves by beating its rivals

Bisharp is a Dark and Steel type introduced in Black and White, evolving from Pawniard at level 52. It stands 1.6 meters tall, weighs 70.0 kilograms, and shares the line's abilities: Defiant, Inner Focus and the hidden Pressure.

In the wild a Bisharp commands a pack of Pawniard and fights other Bisharp for leadership, with the loser driven out. Scarlet and Violet turned that into an evolution rule: a Bisharp becomes Kingambit only by leveling up after it has defeated three Bisharp holding a Leader's Crest, which in Paldea means beating the leaders of wild Pawniard packs.

Grimsley's ace and Georgia's partner

Bisharp is the highest-level Pokémon on the Black and White team of Grimsley, the Dark-type member of the Unova Elite Four, and the pairing returns as a sync pair in Pokémon Masters. In the anime it debuted in Search for the Clubultimate! as Georgia's Pawniard, now evolved, and in the XY series Team Flare's Bryony used one while hunting Squishy.

Bisharp on cards: Black & White Rares to a Trainer Kit deck

Bisharp's first card is Noble Victories #82 (2011), a Rare illustrated by 5ban Graphics. Dark Explorers (2012) and Plasma Freeze (2013) each printed two more, and in 2014 it led the Bisharp half deck of the XY Trainer Kit: Bisharp & Wigglytuff, a 30-card Metal deck that included two Bisharp alongside Pawniard, Honedge and Doublade.

Most of its cards are Rares or Uncommons. The newer standouts are a Shiny rare by Souichirou Gunjima in Paldean Fates (2024) and an Illustration rare by toriyufu in Black Bolt (2025), while the Mega Evolution era's Ascended Heroes (2026) printed it as a Common illustrated by Scav.
