Mr. Briney beyond the ferry route: Faraway Island and the anime

In Pokémon Emerald only, after the player receives the Old Sea Map, a Sailor at the Lilycove City harbor says Faraway Island is too far to reach, but Mr. Briney offers to sail there as thanks for the player's help. In the anime he debuted in On a Wingull and a Prayer!, where Team Aqua steals his boat with Peeko aboard and he gives chase in a second boat, the S.S. Wingull, before ferrying Ash's group to Dewford.
