Gordie is the sixth Gym Leader a challenger faces in Pokémon Sword, and beating him earns the Rock Badge. In Pokémon Shield the Circhester Gym belongs to his mother, Melony, an Ice-type specialist. Gordie chose Rock types over his mother's Ice because he admired them more and wanted his own path, and the two fell out after a heated battle over it.
His Gym team is Barbaracle, Shuckle and Stonjourner, closing with a Coalossal that can Gigantamax. He is popular in Galar for a refined battle style, and is known for shutting himself in the locker room after a loss.
Evolving Skies (2021) introduced the Gordie Supporter in three printings: an Uncommon illustrated by take, and an Ultra Rare and Secret Rare pair illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga. Silver Tempest's Trainer Gallery subset (2022) added a fourth version, a Full Art Trainer illustrated by Ryuta Fuse, more than a year after the original release.
All four Gordie printings are the same Supporter; no card is built around his Coalossal. The run splits into one Uncommon and three rarer versions by take, Hitoshi Ariga and Ryuta Fuse.
The original Uncommon printing, illustrated by take.
An Ultra Rare from the same set, illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga.
The Secret Rare version, also illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga.
A Full Art Trainer Gallery printing, illustrated by Ryuta Fuse.
He is the Rock-type Gym Leader of Circhester in Pokémon Sword, awarding the Rock Badge. In Pokémon Shield his mother Melony leads the Gym with Ice types instead.
A Coalossal capable of Gigantamax, the last Pokémon in his Gym battle.
Our catalog lists 4 Gordie printings across 2 sets: three rarities in Evolving Skies (2021) and a Trainer Gallery version in Silver Tempest (2022).
