In the anime he is the main villain of the Episode N arc, directing Colress's Pokémon control experiments and using the device to seize Reshiram before his plan collapses and he is arrested.

Ghetsis on cards: Plasma Freeze

His card is a Team Plasma Supporter from Plasma Freeze (2013): a Rare at #101 illustrated by Yusuke Ohmura, and a full-art Ultra Rare at #115 illustrated by Kanako Eo. It makes your opponent reveal their hand and shuffle every Item card in it back into their deck, then you draw one card for each Item shuffled away. The card has been banned in the Expanded format since August 17, 2018.
