Bea leads Stow-on-Side Stadium, the fourth Gym of the Galar League in Pokémon Sword. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon and awards the Fighting Badge with TM42 (Revenge). The Gym is version exclusive: in Pokémon Shield the Ghost-type specialist Allister holds the same post.
Her Gym team is Hitmontop, Pangoro, Sirfetch'd and Machamp, and she Gigantamaxes Machamp, which gives it access to G-Max Chi Strike. She is also the player's second opponent in the Champion Cup Finals. Her League Cards paint a stoic martial artist raised on strict family training, with a secret weakness for sweets.
Bea debuted in the Pokémon Journeys episode "Solitary and Menacing!", beating Ash in a two-on-two World Coronation Series match without losing a Pokémon. Ash finally beat her in a later rematch, when his Mega Lucario outlasted her Gigantamax Machamp.
The Bea Supporter is built for Fighting decks: it discards the top five cards of your deck and attaches any Energy cards discarded that way to your Benched Fighting Pokémon.
It debuted in Vivid Voltage (2020) in three versions: an Uncommon illustrated by take (#147), an Ultra Rare by Hideki Ishikawa (#180) and a Secret Rare by Ishikawa numbered 193, above the set's printed total of 185. The Astral Radiance Trainer Gallery added an Ultra Rare by Souichirou Gunjima (#TG25) in 2022, and Crown Zenith (2023) brought a Holo Rare by Atsushi Furusawa (#123). Bea also appears in the artwork of Hitmontop from Vivid Voltage (#88) and of the Astral Radiance Trainer Gallery Falinks (#TG07).
