Zarude

Zarude's origin

Zarude may be based on baboons and mandrills, and possibly black lemurs, with its Dark typing referencing the aggressive and violent nature of these primates. It may also draw on the Shug Monkey of English folklore and the Carew Ape said to haunt Carew Castle in Wales, and its vine-swinging recalls how monkeys and apes are often depicted swinging through jungle vines. Zarude is the only Mythical Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, and along with Victini it is one of only two Mythical Pokémon never made available in the core series without a limited time event.

Zarude's cards by era

Zarude's first cards appeared in Vivid Voltage in 2020, an Ultra Rare and a Holo Rare Zarude V. Shining Fates added a Rare, and Chilling Reign and Fusion Strike followed with a Holo Rare and an Uncommon. Brilliant Stars printed a further Zarude V, and Crown Zenith added a Holo Rare. The Scarlet & Violet era added an SVP Black Star Promo and a Surging Sparks Rare, and the Mega Evolution era's Pitch Black gave it a further Rare.
